What Level Pilates Am I?
Foundation Mat
A class level that teaches and reinforces the foundation Principles of Pilates (being Breath, Centering (or the 'Core'), Control, Concentration, Precision and Flow. This level class aims to teach basic moves from Classical Pilates as well as exploring Contemporary Pilates moves.

This class level suits beginners, beginner improvers, those with restrictive but self managed pre-existing injury or pain.

Improver Mat
With previous experience of Pilates, this class suits the practicing improver with minimal restrictions to movement, good body awareness, reasonable balance, weight-bearing ability, coordination, and control.
Moves can be modified to accommodate some manageable injuries or pain levels, depending on either medical advice or prior discussion with the instructor.

Can I do Reformer?
If you have never done any Pilates you should ideally start with some Mat Pilates before progressing to Reformer.

If you have practiced Mat Pilates previously and would like to try Reformer, please sign up to a Reformer Induction. This is a guide to Reformer machines and introduction to foundation reformer moves.

Currently blended
Reformer Level 1&2
For beginners and beginner improvers, those with health conditions that may reduce level of practice but in a self managed and stable state or post medical intervention and with release with guidance from medical care.

For those with Reformer experience, no / minimal health concerns, exercise progressions will be provided, with possible option to do legs overhead work and back flexion and extension.

Health Questionnaire
All new starters need to complete a short Health Questionnaire before starting with Pilates Practice Stamford.

Please answer questions honestly and give details regarding any health concerns or limitations that will be relevant to Pilates movement and exercise.
You may be asked to seek approval from a medical practitioner prior to practice or to consider private sessions to begin or further your Pilates journey under closer Instructor supervision.
